Tomorrowland Movie Review

‘There are two wolves and they're always fighting. One is darkness and despair. The other is light and hope. Which wolf wins?’

‘Tomorrowland’, a Disney movie featuring a utopian futuristic dimension, parallel to the one we live in gives us an insight into why the world is the way it is. It is based on the idea that the world is messed up because we messed it up, and that now that we have given up on it, it will soon give up on us, unless we change it.

It stars George Clooney under the role of Frank Walker, the genius who sought to change the world but gave up, Britt Robertson under the role of Casey Newton, the optimistic world saving daughter of a NASA engineer, and Raffey Cassidy, under the role of Athena, a wise and childish robot, who recruited Frank and Casey to save humanity, while the residents of tomorrowland lived in bliss. ‘In every moment there is a possibility of a better future, but you people won’t believe it’, says David Nix, the malicious founder of Tomorrowland, refusing to let humans seek refuge there.

Tomorrowland has often been called dreamland, with its floating jet trains, amazingly designed 400 feet high bridges, angled sculpture like houses, and its sleek, slim and space touching skyscrapers.

A 2015 version Florida, and an alternate universe full of unearthly technology like laser guns, jetpacks, spaceships, time bombs, holographic projectors, gives rise to an amazing story full of mystery, adventure, fantasy, emotion, science fiction and most of all humor.

A 20 million dollar yielding movie, has won multiple rewards, and has been praises by numerous critics, including the Times of India - ‘There’s plenty for kids to enjoy – laser guns, jetpacks, spaceships and plenty of tricks to fire a fertile imagination. At the same time, it also manages to mix in a message about environmentalism.

The movie is greatly child appropriate, has been rated over 4 stars, all over the world and is full of witty dialogues, that are sure to bring a smile to your face, and make you reconsider your choices in the world.

Everything has potential, so long as it is treated right, and so it is with our world and so, ‘Which wolf wins? Whichever one you feed.’
